Don't
let the CPA designation fool you. Stacy Johnson is a compelling
and humorous moneyman with a useful irreverence toward corporate
America and Madison Avenue.
Stacy writes, produces and distributes the Money Talks television
news series currently airing in more than 90 cities nationwide.
The 12-year-old syndication is the longest-running, most popular
personal finance and consumer news report in the U.S.
Stacy is the winner of two Emmy awards and five Emmy nominations
for his ability to make the least interesting topics the stuff people
talk about at the water cooler the next day. Try explaining stock
splits, CPI or any insurance topic tongue in cheek and with lots
of visuals. Stacy does it every day.
Perhaps that's why Life or Debt, his first book on debt reduction
and management, is already working for a lot of folks. Read testimonials
from REAL people who are reading Life or Debt. We say "real,"
because they are. These are folks who've sent unsolicited remarks
about Stacy's book and about the success they're already experiencing
through the program.
But you want to know a little more about Stacy Johnson....
Stacy received his degree in accounting in 1977 from the University
of Arizona, and his CPA certificate in 1981. In 1981 he began a
career as an investment advisor and over the next 11 years worked
for three of Wall Street's largest firms: EF Hutton, Shearson-Lehman,
and Prudential Securities. Along the way, he added to his CPA with
licenses in life insurance, commodities, mutual funds, and real
estate.
His career in television news started during the stock market crash
in 1987. The local ABC affiliate in Tucson put him on the air as
an expert interview on the topic. A few days later the station hired
him as a regular for daily stock market reports and analysis.
His book writing career started in 2000 when paging through ridiculously
thick books on debt reduction and simple money management.
"It just isn't that difficult. Who wants to read 1,000 pages
on saving and making money?" is what he said to start the whole
process of writing Life or Debt. And quite honestly, as far as Stacy
is concerned, managing your money and investing it for financial
freedom is as easy as pie.
Stacy is writing his second book on basic investing. He lives with
his wife, Gina, and their three cats, in Florida.
If you really want to get to know Stacy, and you should, read Life
or Debt. And if you can't afford it, get it from your local library.
He doesn't mind. Really!
